Spent some time on the Cat 950. It managed various tasks easily, showing its versatility. The dashboard touch display helped monitor ongoing operations smoothly. However, sound suppression in the cab could be better. The updated lock-up clutch transmission contributed to noticeable fuel savings.

I’ve spent countless hours in the operator seat of the 980G, handling diverse tasks on-site. Its handling is precise, allowing efficient maneuvering and material handling. Although the engine shows its strength under demanding conditions, minor adjustments might be needed occasionally. It’s a solid piece of machinery for dedicated operators.

Using the 966 model has been generally straightforward. Its bucket capacity stands out, making tasks more efficient. I wish the nighttime lighting was slightly brighter, but that's a minor concern. Operating it in tighter areas didn't pose significant challenges, which is a big plus.

The Caterpillar 950F is a robust machine with plenty of power. The transmission shifts seamlessly and braking-responsiveness impressed me. Tires showed good wear consistency-an important aspect. My only minor gripe is the unclear functionality of some cabin electronics.

So we got the 972M with the aggregate handler package for the pit. Bigger bucket and that extra counterweight helps when you're loading out heavier stuff, feels nice and stable. Low profile tires are a big plus, doesn’t roll around like some of the older loaders. The ride control with the dual accumulators is okay, less bounce than I expected but still not quite like sitting in a pickup. Cab display shows your tonnage and all that, but the menus are a bit overkill for what I need day to day-takes a minute to find what you’re looking for. Engine’s got decent power going uphill but the fuel savings mode just doesn’t seem to do much for speed, not that I saw. Still, not a bad place to spend a long shift.

I've run 966s on and off for years. Big machine, great sight lines from the cab so you can place the bucket where it needs to be. Controls are straightforward, layout makes switching operators easy. Cab is roomy and you can sit a long shift without feeling wrecked. Swapped buckets and forks on the same shift more than once, saved time. Fuel use is decent if you watch your throttle. Not for green operators though, you need to know what you're doing.

Used the 966H on-site for a week. It's robust and handles loads well. The engine power is satisfying, though its fuel efficiency could be better. Tires are in great condition, which helped manage uneven terrain. The coupler mechanism functions seamlessly. However, the lack of installed sideview mirrors was inconvenient. Despite minor issues, it's a dependable heavy-duty loader.

I've been running the Caterpillar 966 GC for a few months on our site. Its flexibility in handling various attachments is a big plus, making it a versatile choice. The visibility from the cab aids in safety and maneuvering in tight spots. That said, routine maintenance can occasionally feel a bit cumbersome. Still, it's a solid loader.

Used a Cat 950G for a majority of a project, and it truly shows its capability. The hydraulic system delivers solid power for most operations. Although, the slightly aged components hinted at a necessity for routine checks to ensure optimal performance. The A/C system is effective, which came in handy during warmer days.

I want to share my opinion about the Caterpillar 950F wheel loader. This model has proven itself to be a reliable and efficient machine, but it has a few minor drawbacks in its design. In the hydraulic system, there may be some slight loss of performance at times. The Cat C9 ACERT engine with a capacity of 8.8 liters is good, but it may lack power when handling heavy loads. Overall, the Caterpillar 950F is a dependable workhorse, but I would recommend considering more modern models that have improved features and additional functions.
